Brecon SKC Welcomes Sensei Matt Price, 30th March
Brecon SKC Welcome Matt Price, 29th September 2012
On the 29th September 2012, Sensei Matt Price travelled from Leeds to train the members of Brecon Shotokan Karate and other clubs around the South Wales area.
Sensei's first session involved training a large number of senior and junior coloured belts. His lesson proved to be not only a showcase for his extensive skills and knowledge in Shotokan Karate but a demonstration of a wide variety of Kumite, Kata and Self Defence techniques.
Next was the turn of the black and brown belts. Once again, Matt captivated the students with his accounts of his experiences on the training circuit and competition arena. During a punishing physical session that included stamina and fitness, kata and combination pair work, sensei also explored the more technical techniques and specific combinations that could be used within competition fighting.
The course gave all the students a very different insight into the world of shotokan karate, looking at basic techniques from a different perspective, and challenging you to step out of your comfort zone to push yourself to your absolute limit.
After the training sessions, Sensei kindly sat down for a question and answer session. This proved to be a fascinating experience for the karateka present and showed Matt to be a genuinely humble person.
It was a pleasure to train with you Sensei, and we at Brecon SKC look forward to seeing you again soon.

Special Course with Matt Price, 30th January 2012
A large number of students from Brecon Shotokan Karate Club travelled to train with the famous Matt Price on the 30th January 2012.
The course stretched over two days; the first focusing on Kata techniques, the second focused on Kumite techniques. Matt Price taught techniques and expressed his preferences of techniques from his many years of competing in Karateka.
Our own Rhydian Rogers was even singled out in a group of thirty individuals (juniors and seniors) for impressing Sensei Matt Price with one of his own techniques.
We look forward to welcoming Matt again later this month.
